Type Locality and Naming
It was named by Wang Yu et al., 1954, Acta Geologica Sinica, 34(2): 137. Type section is at Xiaodonggou, east of Benxi City, Liaoning Province.

Purple sandstone, purple and yellowish green shale, with interbeds of limestone lenticle.
